Today, we’ll consider Paul’s warning in Romans 2: religious hypocrisy is not merely failing to live up to God’s standard, but pretending to be righteous while hiding sin beneath the surface. God’s kindness, patience, and forbearance are meant to lead us to repentance—not presumption—and in Christ there is gospel hope: hard hearts can be softened, hidden sin can be brought into the light, and hypocrites can be forgiven, restored, and made new.
