This Sunday, we will reflect on the danger of trusting in outward religion while neglecting the inward work of God’s Spirit. Paul reminds us that religious privilege, knowledge, and covenant signs cannot save an unrepentant heart. Together, we will be called away from empty confidence in ourselves and invited to find refuge in Christ, who gives new birth by the Spirit.
