This first lecture in the Mission of God course reviews some of the key turning points that we are facing as a culture in the West, and how we got to this point. We will contrast the condition of the modern church with the missiological vision of the Puritan age, including the recent phenomenon of the so-called emergent church. With this in view we will consider whether there is an authentic, biblical, and God-honouring pluralism that Christians should strive for.
